Don’t I Know You?

Does anyone else go through this scenario? Let me set the stage:

You work at company #1 for a few years, leave to work for company #2 down the street and eventually wind up back in the original building working for company #3. You see some of the people you used to work with at company #1 but everyone acts like they don’t know each other. Even though there is eye contact, you all don’t admit you know each other.

What’s up with this? It seems that the people I worked with occasionally act this way. The folks I worked with on a daily basis admit to knowing me and vice versa.

Unfortunately, NONE of my former colleagues choose to acknowledge that they know me. It’s rather lonely, sometimes. But at least I have Nick… It’s better to have one REAL friend, than hang around with a bunch of phonies.

Next time stare at one of them, lick your lips, wink and say “The employee benefits at this company are heavenly.”

Been there! I never understood why. Was there some memo that when out that said I was to be excommunicated?

The best revenge is smile and show how happy you are to be out of company #1!

Yup! I left the hospital and it’s like I’m a traitor or something. Only those who I still call and email on a regular basis will acknowledge my presence.

    Buttheads~!

I actually had a Cardiac MD call me a traitor after I resigned… nice collegiality, don’t you think?

What’s this cul-de-sac party, anyway? Mmm-hmmm, that’s right, exclude the black chick.

People are so strange. It’s amazing the human race has lasted as long as it has.

My former coworkers are actually OK with me. Must be the size of my rack. Or something like that…

i don’t think it has anything to do with not wanting to ackowledge .. it’s called alzheimers … after working at company XYZ for 9 years at various locations i see alot of people that i used to work with and have the eye contact thing and think after i pass them “damn it i know her what’s her name” … i just don’t want to look like an ass and not remember, so you walk by and then ask somone else that you think would know later … by the time you see that person again … you forgot their name again
