George W’s place

March 26, 2007 at 11:08 pm (Uncategorized)

About two years ago, I decided to visit George’s place. Luckily, he only lived an hour and a half away, so it was an easy visit. His house was lovelingly restored and the grounds are really nice. He had a nice little garden area with some animals. He had a lovely dock for easy access to the boats and just a fabulous view of the Potomac from his back porch.

Him and the wife are buried in the vault below, which is in the back of the property, down by the river. He also has his servants buried on the land as well but without grave markers, which makes me sad.

If you ever get the chance to visit, please do so. It’s a lovely part of history and a nice place to visit. Which George am I speaking of?

It’s Mount Vernon, Nicole. Home of Mr. George Washington.

It’s a great property and they’ve kept it up wonderfully. I might try to go back when everything’s in bloom.
