Sitcoms have made way for reality and game shows. But you can see great re-runs on WPIX, NY. Channel 11 here. Or see The Office and Earl (whatever it’s called) on Thursday nights and 2 1/2 men on CBS on ? Mondays ?. According to Jim on ? Thursdays ? on ABC.

    I’m opting for re-runs.

Reality TV has taken over because it is so cheap and easy for the networks to produce.

    It sucks out there…

“Last Comic Standing” is the only reality show I have ever or will ever watch. Thanks to the networks, I have discovered The Discovery Channel, History Channel and a variety of others. Therefore, I no longer suffer the fools at CBS, NBC or ABC. Of course, you do have to have cable. Like anything else, you get what you pay for with free TV.

Dave, I do have Direct TV but sometimes I get tired of watching HGTV and the Discovery Channell ALL the time. Where’s the variety? You would think with 200 + channels you could get some good local tv shows.

Or… shows that explore how horrible murderous crimes were committed…

I don’t own a TV and I stay home and read the Bible every night. So I’m not one to ask.

I heard sitcoms have gone the way of the variety show. I don’t think they make them any more. I mean, who didn’t have a variety show in the 70’s????

    John Denver
    Sonny and Cher
    The Brady Bunch
    Donny and Marie
    Johnny Cash
    Carol Burnett
    I’m sure there are others, I can’t remember off-hand, though. I mean, isn’t 6 enough?????????

    Oh I know:
    Tony Orland and Dawn
    The Smothers Brothers

Yes, amen! I bemoan the dearth of sitcoms.

And if I use both “bemoan” and “dearth” in a comment, you know I’m not kidding around.
