Scary Movies

What kind of scary movies do you like?

I like the ghosty, mind playing movies. Like the Blair Witch. That movie scared the crap out of me. I was even intrigued by the second, Blair Witch, Book of Shadows. I HATE blood, guts and gore and especially torture movies.

The Ring, The Grudge, loved them. When I have to rely on my mind to scare me, oh, it never lets me down.

I like the ones with friendly ghosts. 6th Sense,The Others. I used to like really scary ones, but not anymore I can’t take the screaming.

I always found “Rhinestone” starring Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton to be very scary.

I like “The Rear Window” and the old classic thrillers. I hate scary movies as a general rule. I’m a wuss.

I don’t care for them. Sometime during the movie it just gets old and monotonous. Everyone is going to die, or one or two are saved. The only really scary theme for a movie that comes to mine is Roseanne Barr and Rosie O’Donnell in a pron flick.

I really cannot tolerate any kind of scary movies.

After we rented The Ring (which required a lot of pleading on my husband’s part), I was unable to sleep for about two weeks.

I accidentally caught part of Jeepers Creepers on TV last year, and I was completely traumatized. I sometimes think about it when I’m taking my nightly walk through my darkened neighborhood and it still bothers me. I know, I’m a total wimp!

My imagination is just too vivid, I guess. Although I like reading scary books. Dean Koontz and Stephen King are my favorite authors. Go figure!

I liked Signs, when they were in the basement and all you could see was the flashlight, but you could hear all this stuff going on. To me, that is much more scary than watching the gore.

I’m with you, Teri. I like the suspense movies. The original “The Haunting of Hill House” is one of my favorites, as is “Jaws”. I despise the “Saw” and “Hostel” franchise.

The scariest movie EVER is Last House on the Left (from 1974). It gave me chills.

Halloween (the original( is a classic and Prom Night. Gotta love Jamie Lee Curtis!!

Out of the new crop, Hostel and Saw are awesome. Well thought out and gory at the same time.

I have changed the link to a copy and paste. I still have trouble doing anything that requires any intelligence. Thanks for letting me know.

“The Haunting of Hill House” is a favorite. But for the creeps I always liked “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?” The scene where she served the parrot to Joan Crawford was gross!

  15. Teri said,

I love the old stuff too,

    whatever happened to baby jane
    hush, hush sweet charlotte
all the black and white 60’s stuff
    abbott and costello, etc.

I can not stand blood and guts movies and I never understand torture movies. Ok…I understand catharsis…but people dont look like they feel better afterwards. I love mental movies like Skelton Key or Wickerman. Mmmm…cool.

I’m with you, Teri. I can’t STAND the movies like Saw and Hostel…

I tend to like old ones like “Nightmare on Elm Street” and Friday the 13th just because they crack me up more than scare me.

Blair Witch was a really good one!
