Bits and pieces

February 12, 2008 at 9:22 pm (Chelsie, neighbors, Philly stuff)

Hi all,

Do you remember me talking about my crazy neighbors back in the summer? Well they moved in August and the owner of the house had been getting it ready for sale. It finally sold and the new owners had settlement this past Friday. They are a younger couple, I think this is their first house.

My house is a twin and it is one of 10 homes that were built in 1900. We kind of stick out a little on our street since we were built first and the other homes down the street seem more normal. So we tend to form a little club amongst ourselves. My neighbor across the street had an “Open House” on Sunday and a few of us went to socialize. She had invited the new neighbors since they were at their new house that day but have not officially moved in because their lease is not up at their apartment until the end of March. They seem like a nice couple and I don’t think we will have driveway parking problems. He also has a Harley so him and the guy across the street should become fast friends.

———————————-

My sister had quite a scare last week. While my niece and her friend were walking home a guy in a van pulled up and tried to snatch my niece. Her friend yelled her freaking head off and the guy took off. My sister had a meltdown and rightly so. It scared the bejesus out of me, as well. And, Tina, just so you know, mom was extremely upset according to Aunt Dee. Maybe she just didn’t want to show it in front of you and the girl.

For those parents out there, please educate your kids about child molesters, child snatchers, etc. It will make them aware and hopefully save their lives. I can’t imagine what would have happened if my niece was by herself.

**LALALALALALA, good thoughts, thinking good thoughts………..**

———————————-

Remember my post on Parking Wars? Well, everytime I see another commercial I laugh my ass off. I think “Philly can’t be the only crazy city with a crazy Parking Authority”. So tell me, is Philly the only crazy city? There’s got to be another city like this with people running around giving tickets, snatching cars and asking for outlandish ID to get their cars back. Please tell me where I can find another city like this so I don’t feel so bad. : )

i recently went to a kid’s thing where there was a police officer wanting us to do fingerprinting of our babies so that- god forbid- if something happened to them, they could use the fingerprints to identify them.

i couldn’t even bring myself to do it because the thought of someone harming my baby and then cops having to identify a body using my son’s fingerprint was too much for me to handle.

thank god your niece was okay.

Glad you are getting some nice new neighbors. Hopefully, the Harley guy won’t draw too many bikers to the neighborhood.

Child abductors/molesters should be shredded after their first conviction. The repeat rate for this crime is almost 100% but yet they go on and on.

I laugh every time I see that picture!

I would love to do that to my next door neighbors, but, dammit, they are just the nicest young family. The one’s on the other side of me are some Christian Bible Thumpers from the Ukraine and speak little English; and I don’t want to have lightning strike my house – or me.

OK, that is some seriously scary sh*t. There are some evil effers out there these days. Thank god your niece and her friend yelled the place down, it’s the best thing to do. Yell, shriek, kick anything. How atrocious when kids can’t even walk home from school safely.

The thing I like most about that picture is the fact that it obviously offends the neighbor, and you can tell just by looking at him that he’s an ass.

Holy cow about your niece. Glad she’s okay.

We had a registered child molester living two doors down from our old house. That bugged the crap outta me.
Used to be the only thing to worry about when walking home, as a kid, was the occasional stray dog.

I’m sorry, I can’t get past that photo. It’s not so much the hedge sculpture with its ass in the air so much as the old, somewhat indignant codger in the tiny shorts. :):)

    LOL.

That photo is the best!! Makes me want to do some…umm, creative pruning in my yard!

Glad your driveway-blocking neighbors moved, and I hope the new ones are an improvement so you don’t have to use Dick’s explosives. 🙂

I am so glad to see your niece survived her close call! Good for her friend for yelling and scaring the guy off!!

I’m glad your niece is safe! Did they catch the kidnapper idiot? I hope so!

There is a Wal-mart close by my college. Some of the students try to park there. The store is pretty efficient about catching and towing people who aren’t customers. I hear the fine is pretty stiff. But I don’t know if they require all sorts of ID, probably just drivers license and Proof of Insurance.
