Bobby Flay and grilled cheese

April 11, 2008 at 8:44 am (Collingswood, Food Network)

Do any of you watch the Food Network channel? I’m a fan of the channel and I do enjoy Bobby Flay’s show “Throwdown with Bobby Flay”. On April 13 at 10:00 p.m. he’s having a grilled cheese throwdown with the “Pop Shop“. This is down the street from my house in Collingswood.

I wish I would have been there in person to see how that turned out but I will be watching this Sunday.

I used to watch Food Network all the time. I don’t watch it at all anymore (since we dropped that section of our cable) but I had been watching it less and less, cause Food network was becoming less about food and more about Giada and Rachael. But throwdown was one of the shows that I still watched.

I’ll have to see if someone puts the grilled cheese episode up on youtube. Sounds interesting.

Grilled cheese is THE best food on Earth so I’d be interested in sampling THAT! Yes ma’am.

    God, now I’m hungry, great.

Wow, grilled cheese seems so simple, perhaps they will use fancy cheeses and I guess it’s a lot about technique.

Superwoman, you should see the grilled cheese menu that the Pop Shop has. WOW, unbelievable.

Who knew you could make so many different variations?

I looked at the menu online. That IS a whole lotta grilled cheese!!

Then I had a grilled cheese sandwich in your honor today. Two, actually. Yum!

Grilled cheese isn’t any good without tomatoes. And chips. And a pickle.
    And beer.
    Several.

Ya know, I used to love Food Network about five years ago, but I’ve found that in that time, the powers-that-be there have really dumbed it down. Their newest target demographic is 18-25 y.o. males, and it shows. Who the hell cares about diners, drive-ins and dives?

I like the cooking show lineup on PBS on Saturday afternoons much better. Those shows actually still teach viewers how to cook. Much more valuable to me.

So did it air yet? How was it? I’m interested in this one.

Sushiboy, it did air, it was good but they lost to Bobby. Although, they said how bad is it coming in second place to Bobby Flay? Which I have to agree with.

I have a huge crush on Bobby Flay. I can tell by the way that he grills his meat that he wants me.

I love the Food network…Ace of Cakes is my favorite now…I never really liked Bobbly Flay after he showed incredible disrespect on the original Iron Chef show…not once but twice…the second time he acted like a fool because he knew his actions upset the other Chefs…

Diners Drive-Ins and Dives is a great show…I like down home local places getting air time…

Not to keen on Paula or Rachel…Giada drives me crazy

Love Alton Brown’s Good Eats…. and him hosting Iron Chef America….

Cat Kora is one of the best Iron Chefs…Not so much the Balta croc wearing, shorts from high school chef…he is full of himself… just take a look at the size of his belly

Fudge, I saw the WHOLE menu and my eyes bugged out of my head. Did you see the deserts?!?!?! HOLY COW!

I have never seen the show, but have found I can USUALLY get the lad to do anything if I say, I’ll make grilled cheese for dinner.

I used to watch Food Network with my mom all the time. Now every time we see it while channel surfing, the kids and I just sigh… it still stings because mom isn’t there!

My mom made a fabulous grilled cheese. How can you not love grilled cheese??
